PSA: It’s obvious when you’re using ChatGPT – here’s how to fix it

ChatGPT is an incredible tool – if you’re not using some form of AI in your daily workflow, you’re missing out. It can save hours on admin, writing, and research.

But let’s be real: it’s painfully obvious when a post or comment is AI-generated.

I see people using GPT everywhere. Some use it as a productivity hack to draft posts faster. Others use it as a refinement tool to sharpen their messaging. Smart.

The problem? Too many people copy-paste without thinking.

If your post reads like a marketing brochure, people scroll past. If your comment feels overly polished or unnaturally enthusiastic, no one engages.

If your writing lacks authenticity, it feels generic and forgettable – people just move on.

How to use GPT without looking like a bot:

1️⃣Proofread before you post
I’ve seen people forget to delete GPT’s leftover instructions – e.g., "Let me know if you need any more edits to this." It instantly kills credibility.

2️⃣Fix weird formatting
GPT loves long dashes 'like—this' with no spaces around them. Swap them out for shorter dashes – like this – with spaces.

3️⃣Stop capitalizing ‘Every Word In Your Title’
It looks unnatural and makes your writing feel artificial.

4️⃣Ditch the emoji overload
You don’t need 🚀🔥💡 in every sentence. Use them sparingly.

5️⃣Avoid generic, over-polished promo-speak
If your post reads like a corporate sales pitch with no personality, it’s probably GPT. People connect with real voices, not AI-generated fluff.

The right way to use GPT
- Use it as an enhancement tool, not a replacement for your own originality
- Inject your personality: make sure it sounds like you
- Keep it real: not everything needs to be perfectly polished

ChatGPT is a powerful ally – but if you don’t apply common sense, people will notice.
